Reconomy shortlisted alongside Telent for the Social Value Award at the 2023 National Recycling Awards
Reconomy, in partnership with Telent, has been announced in the shortlist at this year’s National Recycling Award in the category of Social Value.
MRW’s National Recycling Awards are recognised as the largest and most recognised awards in the recycling and resource management sector, with 2022 reporting over 550 attendees. The awards provide members of the sector with endless networking opportunities by bringing together the most recognised players in the industry.
The Social Value Award recognises projects or businesses operating in the waste management sector that bring measurable social value to their local community, wider society, or a targeted group. MRW has announced the category will ‘result in a positive impact on the community, such as creating and developing skills, opportunities, and employment or improving local facilities and environments.”
Reconomy’s partnership with Telent delivers real social value whilst reducing carbon and preventing waste. Over the past 12 months more than 25 tonnes of desks, chairs, pedestals, cabinets, whiteboards, stationary, cutlery, and monitors have been distributed to some of the world’s poorest areas, providing access to equipment that will enhance the user’s way of life and access to learning. Re-using this equipment, which was previously treated as waste, has provided our client Telent with cost savings, and helped them towards delivering their target of a 55% reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity by 2030.
This year’s summit will be held at a new venue – City Central at the HAC, London, and with over 550 people expected to attend on 16th November 2023.
