Reconomy partner VWS Software Solutions to drive trade waste automation as part of its digitalXchange supply chain strategy
Reconomy, the UK’s leading provider of outsourced resource management and recycling services, has announced an exclusive partnership with software specialist VWS Software Solutions. The move will see the companies develop a series of digital interfaces between Reconomy’s and VWS Software Solutions’ technology platforms.
Among VWS Software Solutions’ portfolio is PurGo, a next generation ERP system which is used by hundreds of customers to manage all their waste collection and management processes. Significantly, the partnership is Reconomy’s first major technology collaboration designed to specifically support its trade waste activity and signals the company’s intent to continue its rapid expansion in this market.
Commenting on the agreement Reconomy’s Chief Information Officer, Jody Fullman, said: “This exclusive agreement means that Reconomy will be the only company able to boast digital integration with what is recognised as one of the most widely used IT platforms for UK trade waste and recycling businesses. VWS Software Solutions’ trade waste focus means it is an important milestone in our ambitious digital transformation strategy. The dynamic data transfer and insight this integration will provide is going to bring significant efficiency benefits for Reconomy and our suppliers while further improving data quality and availability for our customers.”
VWS Software Solutions Managing Director, Andy Mirecki, also commented saying: “Reconomy is a business that has put technological innovation and digitisation at the heart of its strategy, which makes it a really exciting company for VWS Software Solutions to partner. This is the start of what we hope will be a hugely productive long-term relationship between the two companies and one that will ultimately continue to provide a great experience for all of our customers.”
Coinciding with this exclusive partnership with VWS Software Solutions, Reconomy is also launching its new brand for all of its supply chain digital strategies. Jody Fullman commented “Given the extensive network of digital supply chain partnerships Reconomy have established, we have taken the decision to centre these all within one proposition known as the Reconomy “digitalXchange”. Our integration with VWS’ PurGo is yet another product within this suite of digital partnerships and we continue to be very proud of the positive impact our digitation is having on the waste management industry.”
Reconomy’s considerable progress with the development of APIs (application programming interfaces) with its supply chain in the construction sector has already seen them digitise over 40% of spend. DigitalXchange forms the main part of the plan to drive that further in 2021 through a combination of strategic partnerships and proprietary software.
