Reconomy support Earth Day global clean-up
It is Earth Day today and the theme this year is Invest in our Planet. Evidence continues to be released about climate change and the urgency in which we all need to act to reach 1.5ºC. Only this week we have seen further findings from the latest IPCC report – this time offering some hope and practical solutions. Despite the complexities associated with climate science, our course is simple. We are on track for a catastrophic 3ºC heating – double where we need to be. Click here
Now is quite clearly the time for action and unstoppable courage to preserve and protect the planet and its resources. As part of this year’s Earth Day, a global clean-up is being run and we wanted to get involved at Reconomy and across the Reconomy Group to support with the campaign’s mission to educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. We had a team from the office, and individual remote workers head out today to do litter picking across the country.
Diane Crowe, Head of Group Sustainability, said:
The Reconomy Group use innovative technologies to help businesses around the world to achieve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Our customers lead the way in multiple industries, from retail to manufacturing and construction.
We work alongside trained professionals to incorporate a circular economy into business plans, reducing and reusing waste in the most environmentally conscious way possible.
Sustainability is at the core of our business. In recent years, we have pledged to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2028. The Reconomy Environmental Action Plan (REAP) outlines our intended method to reach this goal, including using 100 per cent renewable energy.
