6 yard skips
The ‘small builders’ skip.
With enough room to load 50-60 bin bags worth of waste, 6-yard skips are fully equipped to handle projects that generate a considerable amount of waste.
Perfect for site segregation with medium to high volumes of waste, it’s one of our most preferred skip sizes for construction customers.
Suitable for all waste types excluding technical and hazardous wastes.
All skips are to be placed on private land. If private land is not available and your skip is to be placed on the public highway a skip hire permit will be required. Additional charges enforced by the relevant local authority will be applied in such instances, in addition to the cost of hire. Charges for skip hire permits together with their enforcement vary regionally.
All permits are chargeable to the customer. Should the permit be declined by the local authority, this charge is non-refundable.
If you require a skip hire permit, please contact us to check eligibility.
Delivery on the day of hire will be between the hours of 7am and 5.30pm. With specific time periods available to be requested at the time of booking.
Please ensure the location of where the skip is to be placed is accessible for a skip lorry and clear from obstruction for both delivery and collection.
Hazardous materials cannot be loaded into the skip, please visit our terms and conditions for more information on permitted waste streams for skip hire.
Example materials are but not limited to:
- Paint tins
- Plasterboard
- Mattresses
- Electronic equipment
- Fridges / freezers
Please visit our full terms and conditions for full details.
The small builders skip can hold between 50-60 bin bags worth of waste, accumulating to 6 cubic yards worth of space.
Whenever you hire a 6-yard skip, delivery location needs to be considered. All our skips can be delivered onto private land, although sometimes we appreciate that space can be limited, and this is not always possible.
When space is limited and a 6-yard skip cannot be placed on private land, a skip hire permit will need to be obtained. A skip hire permit allows you to place a skip on public road, providing the local authority approves your permit.
Additional charges will be added to the cost of hire, however Reconomy will ensure you receive all the help you need to obtain one.
Most items are acceptable in one of our 6-yard skips. However, hazardous items are prohibited from being loaded, here are some examples:
- Fridge/freezers
- Toxic materials
- Asbestos
- Solvents
- Batteries
- Paint tins
For a full list of prohibited items, please visit our full terms and conditions.
