New appointment to drive sales growth at Reconomy
Leading provider of outsourced waste management services, Reconomy, has announced the appointment of a new Head of Business Development.
Chris Cox joins Reconomy with over 12 years of waste industry expertise. Chris has a proven track record within sales-focused roles, having built a strong reputation across the waste industry for exceeding client and customer expectations. Chris’ previous experience includes the selling of waste and recycling solutions directly to Blue Chip companies, the supply of material handling equipment to recycling operations, and the selling of integrated software and vehicle technology for the resources industries.
Chris will head up the Business Development Team, which is responsible for driving sales growth across Reconomy’s core market sectors, consisting of house building, construction, infrastructure and commercial & industrial (C&I). The Business Development Team seeks to attract new clients as well as explore opportunities to enhance relations with existing customers in order to further improve their sustainability credentials.
Chris Cox said: “Having previously worked in an outsourced waste management service environment, I was already familiar with the business model operated by Reconomy. Across the industry Reconomy is widely regarded as being the market leader in terms of its size, its geographic reach and the diversity of the services it can deliver. I am therefore thrilled to be here and very eager to get started.”
“I believe there are many significant opportunities to grow Reconomy’s market share, particularly within sectors such as C&I, where there is a strong appetite amongst businesses to maximise the reuse and recycling of materials in order to meet their corporate social responsibility targets.”
In 2015 Reconomy managed approximately 3million tonnes of waste on behalf of its clients. 93% of this waste was successfully diverted away from landfill by pursuing all available opportunities for recycling and reuse.
Paul Cox, Managing Director of Reconomy, said: “Chris joins us at a very exciting time for the company, where there are genuine opportunities for us to add value to the many businesses that operate within our core sectors. Reconomy is continuing to grow at a phenomenal rate and we have set a realistic ambition of reaching £200million turnover within the next three years.”
