Reconomy Trade sponsors Band of Builders at the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race 2022
Reconomy Trade proudly sponsored Band of Builders for the 2022 return of the UK’s largest independent soapbox race. The popular race raises money for exceptional local charities and was attended by around 20,000 spectators. It is expected to raise around £40,000 for charity this year.
Over 40 soapboxes attended along with Band of Builders to battle it out and be crowned champion, all whilst raising money. The team at Band of Builders worked incredibly hard on their creative soapbox which was designed based on a skip. Three of the team faced the jumps and obstacles against the clock in their hand-built ‘skip’, with impressive times of 49, 40, and 36 seconds achieved between them.
Through generous donations on Go Fund Me and a collection pot at the races, £740 was raised for the Band of Builders charity. Band of Builders is a registered national charity that provides practical assistance through life-enhancing projects for members of the UK Construction industry and their families who are faced with life-changing or limiting circumstances.
Chair of the Board of Trustees at Band of Builders, Gavin Crane, commented: “We were thrilled to have the support of Reconomy Trade this year especially given the unconventional design of our soapbox racer. The company’s support gave our team’s fundraising a huge boost and monies raised will support members of U.K. construction and their families.”
Michael Taylor, General Manager at Reconomy Trade, said: “We jumped at the chance to support this fantastic and fun initiative that benefits so many people. We are proud sponsors and were glad to see so many people cheering Band of Builders on! Well done to the team for all their hard work. “
